I had a devastating ski accident that pulverized my tibial plateau, broke my tibia and fibula, and resulted in compartment syndrome.  Dr. Tony performed five surgeries in six days to re-attach my lower leg.   The operations and initial stages of recovery were grueling but twenty-two screws, four plates, and a skin graft later I left the hospital with a positive prognosis.   Dr. Tony’s skill and experience, coupled with the level of care his team delivered to me, not only saved my leg but gave me the confidence, motivation and encouragement I needed to successfully tackle my recovery.  I was told it could take a full year before I was fully recovered and walking, but thanks to Dr. Tony and my physical therapist John Koth, after only 5 months I was walking well enough to board a plane to Nepal and help with earthquake disaster relief.   I was shredding powder in the backcountry by the winter.  Today I’m 100% back skiing, kayaking, and hiking in my career as a filmmaker, whitewater kayaker and professional expedition guide in the Himalayas.   I can’t express enough how grateful I am to Dr. Tony and Sawtooth Orthopedics – I couldn’t have been in better hands.
